What I wanted to be a very simple web site is now becoming a major production, and a major pain in the butt!! computers crashing, hosting problem, etc.. the list goes on and on, if it could happen it most likely did... aarrgg sometimes I think we rely to much on technology that when it goes haywire we don't know what to do and anxiety attacks set in. Well as our tech (IT guy) normalizes the office tension, I will begin recording our SolidWorks drawing DVD. I thank all those people who have requested topics for our DVD's and it looks as if we will be adding an animation series and a routing series to our training videos.

DVD sales.....
Well I have come to the realization that Webinars don't really benefit alot of people since I have some people that visit my blog from all over the world, and Pacific Standard Time doesn't exactly equate to a "normal" time for some. So we have decided to start selling our training topics on DVD's and even try doing a digital download from our server.
The first complete topic we will be posting for sale will be
"SolidWorks: Create drawings, from start to finish"
we will cover topics on creating custom drawing formats (.drt, and .dot files), linking custom part properties to the drawing, creating section views, moving views to different pages, and much, much more.
The second DVD series will be based on part configurations, which will be a shorter series.
Then our third title will cover 3D content central. This will be a very detailed training series and will cover evrything from start to finish.
We would like to thank you for visiting the blog and can assure all of you that our site will be up (crossing our fingers) by this weekend.
I will post to let everyone know when it is "LIVE"

intro to SolidWorks drawings
OK, since no one is sending in webinar suggestions, I guess I will start to create a schedule on my own......
Soooo, Saturday January 24th 10:00 a.m. PST I will be hosting a FREE webinar on creating Solidworks Drawings, then the following weekend (depending on topic interest) I will be doing a intro to Assemblies.
From Here I will then begin my "advanced" topics on "building intelect to your assemblies" by using driver files to "drive" your assembly and thus updating your parts.
For the Drawing webinar on the 24th please email your request to info@digitaldesignsyndicate.com
and add "Drawing webinar" to the subject line.
I appreciate the emails, and the comments everyone has emailed me...
Thanks Again!!!

Happy Monday... or what's left of it.....
First off I would like to all of those who attended our first wave of webinars this past weekend. But I can only come up with so many topics, but I want to be able to teach you what YOU want to learn, sooooo this is where I want your feedback. Please leave a comment on this blog post or go ahead and submit a future class topic you wish for me to teach.
By the way our email is info@digitaldesignsyndicate.com
or you can go ahead and email me directly at esteban@digitaldesignsyndicate.com
So here are the next topics I will cover: intro to solidworks animation
Time and Date: TBA
Since this blog and website will primarily be dedicated to Solidworks, I will be showcasing my work in a new program I started learning by Autodesk called mudbox. Since this leads right into the segway of teaching Solidworks and Maya integration for product visualization.
Also I am working with Citrix to broadcast and save my webinars for future viewing to those who sign up for the classes.
oh yea here are a few screen shots of one of my models I made in Mudbox over the weekend

freaky Friday......

OK, not really but I just remember that old Disney movie with Jodie Foster was awesome......not knowing that decades later she would become agent Starling in a creepy flick known only as the historic "Silence of the Lambs".
sorry for walking down memory lane, but here is a blast from the past. It was a project I worked in conjunction with Mr. Jordan Sannicks on a all-terrain mobility chair for the blind which was guided by sensor gauges and GPS..... when dreaming, you might as well dream BIG, right!!!! boy does time fly..... this concept design throws me back al the way to 2006...... actually that isn't all that long ago.

Thursday already??
Yesterday was a wierd day of sorts, but to each new day passes is just that... "a new day".... a new day to start all over again from scratch, or at least for 24 hours. So I am now starting to get my future classes in order, and it looks as I am finally getting some progress done on my web site!! I will let everyone know when the site is up and running, plus I just brought a new guy onboard to teach Adobe After Effect,..... and trust me this guy is good!! so I hope to be adding some after effects tutorials for those interested in entering into the world of digital motion media...... ok so it is not mechanical design, but hey you could be the one in the office who save the day!! every company I have ever worked for always hired an outside consultant to make a trade show video. why not add a little value to your resume, and bragging rights around the water cooler........... plus After Effects will alow you to bring out your creative side.

coming up will be 3D content central basics, so if you or your company has ever thought of using this service from SolidWorks, this free webinar must not be missed. We are still trying to decide which day and time to offer this class.... we will keep you posted!!
Plus for those into animated graphic design, we will be starting a seperate series on Adobe After effects!!! Maybe make some cool animated titles for your next trade show video or presentation.

Version 2.0 is here
Happy 2009!!!, with the new year comes change, and change is what we are all about. We at digital Design Syndicate are now going to venture into new territory for 2009.
WEBINARS!!!!! of course we will be selling DVD's but this will now be a suppliment to our webinar topics. As we introduce our webinar services we would like to invite you to a FREE..... yes I said FREE webinar.
this will be for a limited time so take advantage of this great servicewhile it lasts..... here is the class list we will be offering for free.
- Intro to Solidworks interface. (beginner) no Solidworks experience is required. This is for people wanting to get introduced to the world of 3D mechanical designing, or for those entering into Solidworks for the first time and are migrating from another program (Solid edge, Pro-E, etc)
- Building basic part configurations (beg/ intermediate) Do you have general knowledge of the SW workflow?? Does the thought of the configurations scare you (family of tables) Let us de-mystify the concept of configs. by breaking down step by step to make a basic part configuration.
- Adding itellect to your parts (intermediate) Do you work in a dynamic environment which requires you to change designs at the drop of a hat?? Configurations may not be the most suitable option, but using "driver" files may be a better way to go. We will explain this workflow and concept to create "smarter" part.... not to be confused with smart parts inside SW.
If you want to sign up for the webinars, please e-mail your request to info@digitaldesignsyndicate.com so that we may send you a invite code to log-in.
we look forward in seeing you in our webinars.
